2 Minute Update

http://play.goldmail.com/l1cvxymkf6oy

  • Slide Notes: now you can record GoldMail messages while reading from or referring to slide notes. This simple feature allows you to record quickly and confidently, reducing pauses or stumbles, and enhance your message flow. It is also a huge time saver, you can really personalise those sales or marketing messages, and then record them quickly and easily time and time again.
  •  Post to Twitter: social media marketing is not only a great way to build brand recognition for your business, but also an opportunity to show off a more personal side to your communications. Together with the ability to share GoldMails quickly on Facebook, we’ve now added a Post to Twitter link to really help kickstart your marketing efforts. What better way to use that 140 character limit than sending a GoldMail. If you’ve not come across Twitter before then this quick start guide should help.
  • Player Branding: GoldMail is all about your brand, so now you can configure and tweak your branding directly from within GoldMail, in just seconds.
  • Send a picture link: in case you missed it in the last release, see below, emailing your picture linked to your GoldMail is a great way to reassure recipients and increase clickthrough rates.

and remember, you don’t have to do anything new to access all these features, just look out for an automatic update next time you login to GoldMail.

What do you think of these new features? We would love to hear from you over at our feedback forum, and don’t forget to Subscribe to our blog to keep up to date with all the latest hints and tips about how to use GoldMail for your business.

3 Ways GoldMail Makes Network Marketing and Direct Selling Easier

(contributed by: Tom Holownia)

In a recent post on NBC13 News “People turn to ‘network marketing’ in a slow economy”, 3-month Arbonne consultant, Jennifer Grissom observed, “It’s not easy [network marketing], but it is simple…You just have to be able to understand it, and be enthusiastic, without being annoying.”

GoldMail helps new network marketers and direct sellers with all 3 challenges:

Challenge #1: Our innate fear of rejection makes it hard to get started
GoldMail lets you touch your prospective customer or recruit with an email rather than a cold phone call out of the blue. They open your email and click on your GoldMail link. Your message plays in a browser window where they see your visuals and hear your voice – just the way you recorded it (“It’s like you were sitting right next to me!” customers report after playing a GoldMail message).

Challenge #2: Be (and stay) enthusiastic
Record the perfect enthusiastic GoldMail message, just the way you want it and share it with as many people as you like using your own email or by posting it online. Make it once but use it again and again and again!

Challenge #3: Don’t be annoying yet what’s more annoying than answering the phone and being pitched by a friend on their new business? (no wonder there’s Challenge #1!)
Because GoldMail messages arrive as a link in an email, your recipient can view it when it’s convenient for her and respond in kind with an email, which is a lot easier to do than live on the phone if the answer is, “No thanks.”

Here’s how Direct Sellers and Network Markters use GoldMail to help them sell more, save time, and jumpstart new consultants and distributors:

  • Follow up after meeting a new customer or team recruit
  • Welcome a new team member
  • Introduce new products and promotions
  • Renewal and reorder reminders
  • Invitations to parties and shows
  • Inform and motivate their team

Sticker Your Way to Higher Party Attendance

  • Affix assorted colored stickers to invitations
  • Request they bring their invitation with them to the party / show
  • Let them know there will be a drawing at the party and everyone with a certain color (or number if using numbers) gets a special gift – free

Christensen on Sponsoring

  • “Selling means income for today. Sponsoring means income for a lifetime!”
  • “People who are perfect for your business are the ones who see your business being perfect for them”
  • Sponsoring is:
    • Not about you
    • Not about the company
    • Not about the founders
    • But about them – the gap between where they are now and where they want to be and don’t assume “they’ve already arrived” by the way they dress or what they drive – you’d be surprised
  • Mary finds consultants and distributors spend far too much time talking about how great the company is, while what people want are solutions to their problems
  • “Talk small”
    • Say less and they’ll hear more
    • Emphasize small, short-term goals, e.g. pay off the credit card in full each month vs. grandiose dreams of world travel; its more believable, achievable, and less off-putting
  • Don’t assume by looking at someone you know where they are in their life; you need to talk to everyone, so don’t take a NO as rejection – it’s just not a fit – move on
  • Keep the business opportunity speech ultra-short (15 seconds), down-to-earth and real, e.g. “The product changed my skin but the company changed my life.”
  • Always have a next step, e.g. “In ten days we’re having a short call about … if you’d like to attend.”

Turn Lemons into Lemonade

  • Mary once gave away free samples of her company’s ugliest nail polish color that she bought deeply discounted, wrapped them up and offered a free exchange if the customer / prospect didn’t like the color! Of course they exchanged! People love getting something for free and then they spent a bit more.
  • Take the party to them – show up before Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day at HIS place of business offering to make it easy for the men to order

Hostess Coaching

  • The hostess should be worrying about just one thing – attendance – because the more people that come, the more orders get placed, the more free product they earn; you take care of the rest to help maximize your income from each event
  • Help them make it fun, interesting and about their guests – not about the product, company or opportunity, e.g. “I’m having a Pampering Party and I’ve invited an Arbonne consultant to come and give us all facials! I want you to come!”

The Power of a Closed-ended Question

  • Establish a connection and a place to start from with closed-ended questions; rather than “How do you like your current makeup?” which could result in a “It’s OK,” response, try, “What’s the one thing you’d change about your looks / complexion, if you could?”

Would you wear a button that says, “Times are Tough”? (Part 1 of 3)

That’s how Direct Selling and Network Marketing Expert Mary Christensen kicked off her “Thriving in Tough Times” teleconference on 2/25/09 to a capacity audience invited by GoldMail. This is the first in a series of highlights taken from her talk.

Yes, times are tough but that’s no reason to wear it on your sleeve or as Mary saw at a recent conference – on a button! “The Direct Selling and Network Marketing business is about developing relationships with people. Who’s going to want to talk to someone wearing a ‘Times are Tough’ button?” she went on to note.

“In good times people succeed and in tough times people succeed,” says Christensen. Look for ways to improve yourself and your business, despite what’s going on around you, she advises, suggesting we toss the “work smarter NOT harder” adage and instead adopt, “work smarter AND harder!”

No Bookings. No Business.

  • Figure out what you want to earn and what your average income is per show or party – divide and that’s the number of show / party days you need to book for the year
  • Have a month-at-a-glance calendar for your business; keep business calendar separate from personal
  • Highlight in the calendar the days each month that you’ll do a party or a show
  • Pass the calendar around at your next party and ask the guests to write in their name and number if they’d like to host a party like the one they’re attending (with all its perks!)
  • Incentivize them – “If you sign-up before I ask if you’d like to host, I have something special for you.”
  • Having trouble booking particular dates? Add a star to them in your calendar and let guests know that if they find an empty date with a star on it and book it, they get double the reward!
  • Make it fun and exciting and about them – not about the products, the company, the business, the founders, etc. Who can resist a “Girls Night In” party with tiaras and pajamas?
  • Host your own parties 4-6 times a year and make them spectacular events, so people who get invited feel extra special
  • Keep it in perspective – yes, a newbie might only get one YES for every ten calls they make to a potential hostess but even the best of the best only get 3 out of 10 (per statistics from the DSA and DSWA)
  • Make the call to the potential hostess be about them – make it interesting, make them feel special – “When I saw these new products, I instantly thought of you!” rather than, “Can you host a party on March 2nd?”
  • Market yourself in your own community – take a booth at the next fair or church gathering and make the booth exciting, fun and lively, and offer an IN and OUT – something free they can experience like a few minute massage or skin assessment to keep the traffic flowing IN and OUT
